its true, rapala did buy out freetime... Shimano will lose rapala braid, rapala accesories, rapala lures, bluefox and williamson... everything squidgy (except braid) will remain unchanged

Drifting for sharks at 90 fathoms, having a jig while the lines are out... all we could hit were leather jackets... hundreds of them, on big jigs too. Drifted about 4 miles during the day and the flow didnt stop... up to about 2 kilo and boy do they taste nice

Yeh, the main difference between braid and mono is the diametre, and the fact that braid does not stretch... Deep water fishing/jigging you basically REQUIRE braid as over that much distance the mono stretches a long way and you wont feel the slight touches anywhere near as much as braid...

yeh good luck throwin a 1gm jig head with any baitcast... let alone a $100 one

I have to say i'm a shimano man through and through Baitcast: Curado 100/200 $250? with a Raider $170?... Spin: Stradic 1000/2500 $250? with a Tcurve or a Raider You will not be dissapointed with either of these combo's Generally i use a baitcast setup for Flatties (easy to cast the heavy lures) and always use a 1000 to 2500 spin (threadline) setup for Breamin... -Stick

Pre fish for the Hawkesbury ABT is on Friday... there will be a lot of boats on the water... Up further, Mooney Mooney etc will be a lot better for fishing on Friday as on the really keen/fast boats will be going up that far...
