  1. hey raiders, i hit the rocks with a mate last night in the search for some tailor. the first hit was a good one, and after a 5-10 minute battle a nice tailor of 64cm (2.5kg) was flapping at my feet. next hit was a 52cm tailor and then a 55cm model. was a great session and the biggest tailor was a PB fish for me. was very happy with the fish and loo king forward to a nice feed!!! heres some pictures!.... the big one
  2. wow!!!! those are some nice blackies there peter!! nice catch, i might see u out there some time!!!
  3. hey peter, i saw fred(i think thats his name), the old guy with the funny hat fishing on thursday avo run in. he had about 10( some very good fish and some just legals) in the bag with the blackies still biting reasonably well. there was amost no run and it was a bit windy and overcast ofcoarse, but he said that the blckies had been very on and off. he also said that the hardest thing was green weed! josh
  4. cheers mate, yer, may as well take advantage of the free time!! cheers, josh
  5. hey all, woke up and 5 and headed down to the woolies bridge pretty unprepared with only 1 type of lure. fished it near the woolies bridge and picked up a pb flatty for me(54 cm) and the smallest flatty that i've caught on a lure(about 15cm-guess) both took the squidgy flick bait. after i'd generally worked the area i headed opposite the caravan park with no sucess- but a nice sunrise at least. all in all a nice way to start the morning before going to school cheers josh
  6. good effort!! though that trev looks alot like a sampson fish- a juvelile one! cheers, josh
  7. thanks slinky, thats some great advice, thats funny about guys who take their gear in the shower! cheers, josh
  8. cheers guys!!!! my question has been answered, cheeers, josh
  9. thanks steve! i actualy havn't dropped my reel in the sand( well i have in the past, but they have been sorted out)- what you said, "that you cant beat the alveys"- totally agree and thats why i always use them off the beach. i just have got a bit of salt water in one of my plastics reel and just was wondering if giving it a flush would do any good? i usually always ease it with WD-40 after i get it a bit wet, but i've always wondered if giving it a freshwater rinse would be beneficial? thanks for your help, josh
  10. hey guys, i'd just quickly like to know is it ok to give your threadline reels a fresh water rinse out after recieving a bit of salt water???... and a bit of sand....? cheers, josh

and let us know how you go!!!
  12. great fish mate! great to see fat, healthy fish coming from our headlands. i've gotta give curly a go some day!
  13. thanks brickman! ill give them a go! i've found that the gulps get absoluely smashed- firstly because of their life like apperaence and scent that drives the fish mad. and the squidgy's dont get as smashed because they are tougher- with my squidgies i always get plenty of cuts and small chunck taken out- but not tails ripped off... and also they probably are less effective on fish! cheers, josh
  14. was going to gather some live bait and fish the lake 2night, but too tired after a big day so just headed out to the flats opposite caravan park to flick some plastics around. landed a small flatty about 25cm then lost another as it surfaced, it loked about the legal limit, then a tailor about 30cm was lost again- was close to me, and then ended the evening with a bigger hookup that was lost again a couple of my fish where caught by just walking along the flats with the lure about 20 behind me bouncing along the bottom. was using a squidgy flick bait in the bloodworm colour- a pretty good lure. i think ill get some better jig heads........ but all in all a nice way to end the evening cheers, josh
