  1. I read that Sth Coast estuaries banned nets to stop the transfer on noxious aquatic plants (????). I assume C&R is also banned.
  2. Was planning on a fishing/camping trip to Myall lakes but came across this DPI alert. Recreational fishing closures I was honestly surprised by the amount of waterways closed to recreational fishing All closures Can anyone provide any further information about the duration/motivation for the closure? Given the amount of red-spot in recent years it is hardly surprising.
  3. Always great photos mate. Love the colours on the squire. What rig are you fishing there?
  4. how far up Par. River do they reach. Drummoyne? Abbotsford?
  5. i know some very good catches have been made during tournaments by 'leccying the perimeter and floating lightly weighted plastics against the pontoons. The security dont miss a beat. Dont blame the guys, just doing their job. I suppose managements concern is over rubbish and hooks etc in a very public place. Given the state of Birkenhead ferry wharf its understandable. Jewhunter, do you think the place is alive with fish because of its location or because of the manmade structure?
  6. Went by Birkenhead point this morning and the place was just alive with fish. Bream, blackfish, whiting and mullet. Took a picture on the phone which certainly doesnt do it justice...
  7. thanks fellas, hard to beat IC for convenience and fish-catching potential. JH - i am yet to give HC a decent try but with the persistent NE every afternoon, i may have to start trying the NE shores of HC
  8. Sure is Hodgey, have found them to be quite useful around pontoons and floating structure. Stays in the zone a long time, and works well with some small twitches. Not sold on the squidgy brand but was all i could find. Hook gauge is a bit heavy for my liking. A smaller gape would go astray either
  9. Started out with a fairly low tide on friday afternoon, landbased in Iron Cove. Having to find shelter from the prevailing NE wind did make for the most ideal of fishing conditions. Regardless, found a couple over the next couple of hours. Soft plastics, rigged on resin heads worked slowly over rocks and around pontoons accounted for a couple while light. As it got darker, i found the fish pushed up harder against walls and rocky structures. Dark coloured Attacks did the trick this time but thats only because it was the only lure i tried (as it was working) Used a certain unnamed scent, as the water was quite murky. Biggest fish estimated at 34-35 cm. more pics from my not so secret spot X
