Congratulations to Uncle Bat and the crew on the MIGHTY "Valhalla" As one of my teachers on the broadbill when I was growing up and learning the ropes, I use to look up to Scotty "BAT" Taunton, hard to fill his shoes as he had fished with Ross and Glenn Hunter for many of years but I gave it my best shot !! A few years ago he moved to Carins and now runs a boat repair company called "Bats boat works", he bought an old Haines Hunter and worked some BAT MAGIC on the boat it looks better then new and Named it "VALHALLA" ! Due to the poor weather up in far north Queensland The annual Norship Marine Light Tackle Slam game tournament was canceled and postphoned to the weekend that had just passed. With weather still not friendly they pushed on out ! With results in for the tournament !! Hey Cogga ! Great haul well done to you and the crew plus the "EMU" Yeah you are right not as great as last year but any day you get a haul of reds is still a good one ! but there is still alot of spring left to go so cross our fingers that the we catch those big ones next time Soxie

Hey Cogga ! Jess's father was down there too, he caught 9 Reds to about 3.5kgs and by 9am the fishing shut down him ! Well done to Glenn and crew !

Scon, I ve been gamefishing most of my life and have fished with Ross and Glenn Hunter for over 10yrs as a crewman, catching nearly most our marlin on 24kg line class including 21 marlin in day, too many grand slams to remember and some large Striped, Black and Blue marlin. 24kg line is not as harsh on the body and the fish as well plus having a great skipper behine the wheel helps alot too. Gamefishing is all about fun with great mates and catching that fish of your dreams.
