Yes definitely good black fish weed . I have used this with good results but only clean it in salt water .

I have used many braid brands in the past and I have now found the Daiwa J 4 or J 8 braid to be excellent and for leader Berkley Vanish OK also .

There are some Eels up in the brackish water with sharp teeth which may be the culprits .

Some of my best weed has come from farm creeks on the south coast as it is also in the fresh .

Google Maps golf courses near you as some have ponds and small creeks which hold string weed
Only check them out late in the day when golfers are gone .

Try a light line rig with a small ball float size (1) small sinker (0) and Mustard worm hook size 10 at 20 -30 cm under the float and use soft white bread pressed onto the hook also bread burley .
But the mullet can be very fussy .

I have tried a few brands in the past and now use only Owner 5114 light circles sizes 1/0 & 3/0 depending on the bait size used . Wind in but don't strike

Check out Sunline Fine Float II mono -10/12 Lb . I have used this for some time with no problems .

Looks good to me. If it is long enough to twist on a size 8 hook give it a go . I have used pond weed from golf courses -- It works .

For hooks look for Gamakatsu or Owner brands and swivels Mustard or Black Magic --these brands are OK.

Look into the Daiwa 20 Aird X range -702MFS orHFS good guides and blank for the money $99 . This is for boat use .For off the beach a Daiwa Sensor Wave 1202H would do

Try some metal vibes like TT 1/4-3/8 in gold or pink colour on a slow small lift as they cast well and cover a fair distance .

Get a piece of skirt steak from the butchers and cut in strips 30 mm x 5 mm and use a lure scent on it . Also use a long shank hook size 4 or 2 .
