Ill get a wilson 4126 for estuary fish and the 4144 for rocks, But will the alvey 475b with 7 kilo line be good for both types of fishing? appreciate your help luderick.

Thanks for that advice luderick -angler. Going to pick a MT4144 and 475b up tomorrow and go straight out and have a fish with it. Im going to put some 7 kilo fireline on it so its good for both estuary and rock fishing. Plus also later on when i get into beach fishing it can double up as a beach rod.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and all this blackfish talk has me wanting to go out and buy a new rod and reel combo, as I've been using my sedona 1500 and 7" silstar quiver tip. I'm looking at getting the alvey blackfish reel and still undecided on which rod to purchase for it. So I'll like to ask what reel rod combo do most you luderick hunters use, what class line and do you usually fish from rocks or rivers?

Wow nice fish there mate. I live in the marrickville area and Didnt realise Cooks river had so many fish. Might take the kids there on the weekend, where do you recommend I'll be land based? Congrats on your jewie, beautiful fish.
