  1. loving port douglas.. great place, great fishing

  2. loved the fight for the gt you got in the first vid. I just caught 2 gts off the rocks up here yesterday. heaps good fun. Not as big as yours though mate.
  3. To the fishing devoted, I'm sitting at the qantas domestic terminal about to board for a 3 week trip to Port Douglas. It's a family holiday, but then I fished on my honymoon too. I have the bazooka loaded up with 5 rods, a suitcase with about 50+ lures, hundreds of plastics and 6 reels in my onboard luggage. The short of it is estuary, LBG and reef fishing are all in my sights. Species I'm most keen on catching this trip are Mangrove Jack, Spaniards and Barramundi. But really would like to get fingermark, queenfish, GTs, Emporers so on. Anyone know any good charter operators here in port Douglas? I'm by myself, but can't go out and pay for the whole boat, so an operator who will allow that kind of stuff. Squeeze me on somewhere. Both estuary and reef fishing. Thanks a lot for any suggestions. Marty
  4. Hey mate, Not much luck off Terrigal rocks myself, although got 2 nice snapper and a sampson fish off shore terrigal last friday.
  5. Yeah, thats what we tend to do. move if they become a problem... absolute pain though. Last week we must have moved half a dozen times because of them in just a couple of hours.
  6. G'day everyone Been trying to work out something. With leatherjackets biting me off a bit lately jigging out wide, I've heard different things about why they do. The first one is that they see the line (particularily yellow) and bite it off for whatever reason. The second one is they smell all the fish guts on the line from your hands and bite it because they think its food. That seams much more likely then the first to me, but with people telling me to get rid of my braid because one of the colours is yellow I'm interested to know what you think. Cheers
