Mate the pflueger trion 4-10lb rod is a gem. Should definitely consider it. I got one online for under 100 bucks. Check it out if you can find one- IM-8 graphite, light as a feather and can handle a bit of hard work. I got it matched to a shimano sensilte 1500mg (japanese model) with 4lb fireline. Nice little combo.

G'day, First time poster, been reading for the last month or so. Great site, learning alot. Went for a fish last night at Coogee on the high tide thought i'd go for a couple of tailor or aussie salmon gangin' pillys on about 20lb line No action on the those guys but right on high tide i start to reel in one of baits thinking i might have to chuck another pilly on and got hit my something. I pulled it in without too much of a fight not really sure what i was gonna get but landed a nice 50cm sandy Flathead. Haven't had to much luck in the east of late so it was a good change. Anyone else around the East doing a bit of landbased fishing i'm looking for a few more decent spots i haven't seen much info on eastern subs spots Cheers Dom
