Gives me that Kingie Itch... Nice fish mate
-
Well done on your first King mate! May the rest be tough and back breaking

Note for future reference mate, if you're going to take something home to eat it, wouldn't you be better off taking something you know? LOL, I sure wouldn't go to Woolies and buy an unmarked can of sea creature then cook it and eat it! Eel does taste nice I agree, but what if it was something protected or poisionus?
Just my 2c

I think you need to be either 24.564m from the left or 35.321m from the right, depending on the sun or moon reflection and the current, also take into account the wind and the tide...
Left Side, Right Side, Middle Side, Inbetween Side? I think your best bet is to spend some time down there and work it out for yourself mate, you might have just been on the wrong side of the beach at that time, fish don't stop and wait for us, spend enough time at any spot and you'll get the feel for it and where the fish should be! People can give you reports on how they have gone, but they can't put you on the grain of sand to catch a fish, that my friend is what makes fishing fun! And the sense of achievement so much when you get on!
Good luck

Been a good day soo far just ashame that froze and got soaked and no fish came out to play...

Mate,
You are a very lucky man...
I been up there for Fishing trips twice and it was mesmerising, we were predominately throwing massive poppers from the stones and livebaiting off the stones but GT's, spannies, barracouda and the dreaded sharks (in the 1000s ) that were screaming 13kg of drag off like it was nothing ahh they were the days...
Maybe next trip maybe catch up and we can have a fish or something...
Cheers

Well done mate, nice way to go on a break from Aussie Waters, jews and kings what a life...
All the best with trials in Greece mate, good to see people with sense, to make a break in soccer you need to get well away from the 'Hyundai A-League' an absolute joke of a league that only makes players lose skill as far as I can see...
Got a few family members in pretty high up spots in Italy mate, soccer naturally, I think Lazio, Genoa and Napoli... If Greece is no good or want to dip your toe in somewhere else send us a PM and I'll see what I can organise for ya... Can't hurt to trial?

Mate have a little squizz back through the forums,
It seems like every day someone is asking something about Avoca, seems like everytime I log on there are the same questions and answers for the area...
Have a squizz back over the last week, maybe 2? Should be a tonne of info, alot of helpful Raiders here...

Nice fish and very unique reel!!
I dont think any fish will not benifit from immediate bleeding and icing down. We bleed all fish to be kept and within minutes ice them down.
Cheers

Gday all,
Planning a trip on a houseboat on the Hawkesbury for a few nights in December and wanted to ask about how far up the river you need to go for bass. The last time I hired a boat in the hawkesbury we were based between Portland and Wisemans Ferry and got in to plenty of bass during that time. However in December we will be hiring from a company based in Brooklyn so will be much closer to the entrance of the river. Im guessing theres not too many bass so close to the river mouth
So my main question is how far away from the mouth do u have to go to get in to the brackish waters where the bass will be? Im not asking for specific spots or anything just general areas if any raiders could assist?
Thanks in advance
Quite a way mate... Never heard of an Aussie Bass outta the mouth of any saltwater river...
Can't help you out with Bass up there though, not my grounds, I do have a question though... You have a houseboat and are targetting bass??
Cheers

for jews, I would say you need to go further down the rather, try around Como Bridge area, or Tom Ugly Bridge or Captains Cook Bridge (I assuming land based).
All those places you can get Breams, and a few other species.
Yes, I've heard of people catching EPs up in the Liverpool area around the weir.
Good Luck.
haha nah mate... waaaayy off.... In my experiences anyway...
Mate,
EPs are all along the georges, if you have a tinnie I would just try fishing under a few of the bridges on your way along the river, you never know what you''ll come accross but yeah Captain Cooks and Tom Uglys in a boat for jewies would be the go...
Although do some tracking along the georges at night (beware of predators ) and you never know
Cheers

Mate less talk more drop...
It's fishraider not crabraider... So long as you got some traps in the water with some bait your a shot...
Try near mangroves, try all sorts of things, you may come accross a gem spot that noone else would have thought of or knows about...
Just remember, a trap + bait = a chance, bumping + repeat questions = no crabs at all...
Crabbing over computing anyday!!
Cheers

G'day Mate...
If your looking at getting the right gear to set up for this (Land Based Game Fishing) I suggest you start saving, mate it is extremely expensive and lots of hard work... But can be well worth it...
You'll need to basically start your gear collection again (a good excuse) I would assume, I most certainly had to when I first got into it...
Better off using a float or a balloon to keep fish on the top, don't not use a float or the little bugger will get you snagged somewhere...
One other thing, if your going to be fishing for big fish of the rocks, you will need a gaff...
Any other questions feel free to PM...
Cheers

Nevertheless hope you get good karma with your fishing...
