  1. I heard on the news before that any of the arsonists caught that lit fires in which people died they will be charged with murder. They should lock them up and throw away the key!

    BLOODY IDIOTS

  2. According to the website Weatherzone it's only around 28 degrees in my area, got to love the seabreeze, about a 15kn NE keeping the temp down.

  3. Not quite sure where you have been hiding lately Little Noah but we are in the middle of a heatwave as my pics indicate and the BOM validates.

    heatwave article

Sydneysiders are being warned to brace for a record heatwave this weekend, with New South Wales to become the hottest place on the planet on Sunday

This is certainly NOT a usual summers day

Yeah I seen on the front page of Friday's Telegraph it's ment to be 47 in western NSW today, yeah the hottest place on the planet.

I havn't been hiding but maybe because I live on the coast close to the water I'm getting that seabreeze a few people have mentioned here. That's probably why it was hot, but not that hot where I am.

Like I said, I didn't think yesterday was anything special in terms of heat, today is ment to be the scorcher

  4. The picture showing the temp which looks like it's in a car dash, (sorry I coudn't copy it) if so, they are far from accurate.

The sensor which indicates the temp is behind a pannel somewhere or in the engine bay , so there is a lot of heat build up that effects the temp reading. It's not out in the air with no other heat effecting it. Have to knock about 5 degrees off that.

But yeah, it was hot today, but I don't think it was any hotter than the usual hot summer days.

Not looking forward to tomorrow but, ment to be an absolute stinker!

  5. I agree our current bowlers have got nothing on the likes of warne and mcgrath, but, I reckon they're also pretty good. If you look at the last game against the kiwis for example, we only got 181 with the bat, then it took every ball of the 50 overs for the kiwis to get the required runs to beet us, so the bowlers didn't do too bad there, I reckon it's the top order batesman where our problems lie.

  6. I know the area pretty well down there and have caught a sh1t load of flattys over the years out of the basin. My spot/s is just outside the last markers where the inlet meets the basin (as mentioned in a previous post) and turn left or right. Try drifting all around both sides till you find the fish.

Good luck, you should definatley get a good feed of flattys from there.

  7. I agree with the cop, I don't believe we should have to pay a licence either, but we do.

I totally disagree that because "he's got that badge in his pocket" he shouldn't have to pay, they're no different to any of the rest of us.

    My opinion anyway.

  8. Ricky Ponting is an absolute gun mate. You just have to look at the blokes record to see that. I think Australia need some decent bowlers.

I reckon we have some absolutely unreal bowlers, Tait, Johnson, Bracken.

Ponting has a good innings now and then and everyone thinks he's the greatest, if he doesn't have a bloody good innings he's out for about 10 or so, which is more often than not.

Warne should have got captain after Waugh.

The sooner Clarke takes over the better!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

    Can't stand Ponting. :thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

  9. So who's getting sick of watching Australia lose again and again.

P.S. I can't stand Ricky Ponting! So over rated it's not funny

  10. I cant bloody do it, whats the trick, pleeeaaase tell me. I'm getting very annoyed with this.

EDIT: I DID IT, I DID IT, I DID IT!

    Just don't ask me how.

  11. I moved into a house a few months ago and found a beach/rock rod in the garage. It has no length or weight rating on it, just the name Hank Newman, so my question is has anyone heard of these rods and are they any good?

  12. North of the surf club.

    I use pilchards.

G'Luck on your encounter with the jewy as it could be you next hehe.

    Regards,

    John.

    Cheers mate :beersmile::beersmile::beersmile:

Thanks for revealing your secrets, will definatly be giving that a go, now I know it is possible off the beach here.

  13. sick jewie mate!!! :biggrin2: i was at windang last night too, catchin tailor on hb lures at the breakwall... will post photos soonish...

    well done mate !!!!!!!!!!!

    Bloody well done mate. :yahoo::thumbup::biggrin2:

If you don't mind saying, where on windang beach were you fishing, down near the breakwalls or north of the surf club, and what bait did you get him on?

I'm a local in Windang and never caught a jew off the beach or anywhere else for that matter.

    Again, well done mate.

  14. I chartered a bareboat yacht at the whitsundays for my honeymoon.

    I highly recommend it.

You dont need to be an experienced yachty or anything.

Word of advice though don't overdo the fishing.

Funny you should mension it, I've been looking at that, looks absolutely unreal. The only thing the :wife: is a bit iffy about is having to do all our own cooking and cleaning, something about no house work just relaxing or somethin or other, bla bla bla. I reckon I'll be able to convince her but.

Was the one you went on a sail yacht?

The one we were looking at is powered boats around 35 to 40 foot.

Can you dock the boat or drop the anchor and go ashore in the tender for dinner and/or a night out etc?

Do you remember what company you went with mate?

I'm keen as for this, I reckon I've got her about 80% keen. If we can go ashore for dinner and a night out here and there I reckon I'll have her convinced.

  15. i'd assume there would be better things to do on a honeymoon than go fishing. if you know what i mean

but otherwise i am sure there is accomodation at bobbin head

Yeah mate, I get your drift (pun intended) but thats for night time after a few , and maybe the odd wake up snuggle :yahoo::biggrin2::thumbup:, still plenty of time to get a fish in somewhere you don't normally get to go but.

As for Bobbin Head, thanks anyway.

  16. Raiders,

noticed the last few weeks I have been out at the FADs that within 20 minutes or so of a couple of spear fishermen getting into the water the fish go off the bite.

Is it my imagination or do others find the same thing?

I dont begrudge them being there as long as they play by the same rules as the rest of us, like giving everyone a go drifting the the line, however if they do turn the fish off I will be leaving as soon as they turn up from now on.

gotta say they are either brave or thrill seekers as there must be a noah or two looking for a feed as well!

Don't really have an answer to your question, but gotta say, they're mad. I used to spearfish myself, only around the rocks though, I know there can very well be sharks there too but never would I get in and start spearing fish out there. That takes some BIG KAHOONAS. Maybe it's a mind over matter thing but that's just not for me.

  17. Yep lord howe for sure ,my friend got his wife her first fish "a 18kg spaniard". but if she wants to sit back and relax well its got everything and its not that for away . its a matter of do you want to catch 20kg GT's or oversize kingfish and other assorted monster's of the deep .

HMMM. 20kg GT or oversize Kings, decisions, decisions. Will definatley be looking into Lorde Howe, but feel free to throw a few more suggestions at me.

  18. Sounds like a top trip, plenty of fish caught. Congrats on the PB's :yahoo:

You scored well getting to go out with an ABT fisherman, you'll be a pro in no time.

  19. Hi Little Noah,

That's the Northern breakwall he is on. The car park has a pile of coal around the entry road. One thing to take note of though is that cars parked there quite often get broken into. Lots of people I know have had there car windows smashed and things taken out of them.

    Howard

Yeah thanks mate, I worked it out later to be the northern wall. I decided from the pictures it couldn't be the southern so must have been the northern.
