thanx heeps for the warning mate i go under ther with frnds on ther tinnies and one frend lives right next to the bridge on the water an me an her almost went out on a blow up boat there ...... never doin that agen i never would ov expected big sharks of that size neer there

  4. Thanks Jason. Just realised that patonga isn't that far away from where we going to live as well. Do you know what usually been caught there? Jew if lucky?

um i havent realy heard of jews being ther but i dont see why not mainly iv just herd of eople getting monster flattys and big whiting aswell i know that ray r a raider hu hasnt posted in ages used to go there often and caught flatties often hes reported about catchin tailor ther also once and also flounder there once to , probably more and other things but im fairly new to fishraider.

i hope this info helps if youu wanna know more pm me also try a search for previous posts by ray r and you might learn sum things

p.s. not only the beach is gud but if your facing the water the rocks off to the left are good to an ther not that hard to get onto also if you keep going round on them theres a small beach thing and thats supposed to be good to

  5. well theres lots of spots the entrance is very popular if your neer there

but a good spot is avoca off the beach you can get whiting an bream decent sized as well

and off the rocks at avoca is a good spot but the fish arent always ther but wen they are they are!! i caught a 4 kg salmon off ther a few months ago (out ov everyone there was bout 20 caught) but it is better close to christmas

i heard patongas rely good but hav only had a chance to get ther once and it was rely windy and it produced nothing but gosford river is also good but its sumtimes abit dirty but fish are etable from there

also you can fished landbased into the hawkesbury neer the road bridges on the princes hwy thers a grased area thats good for a picnic and with kids

i might be up there myself ion a few weeks i live in syd but i hav family up ther and iv bin going up ther my whole

    so cheers jason

p.s. hope you hav a good time with plenty of fish

  6. Thats if your a Daiwa fan!, I say a nice Shimano Stradic 2500 or 4000, i have a few and they are wonderfully smooth reels. I just bought a 6000 Stella and im kinda wondering to myself why they are 4 times the price of a stradic?? they certainly dont feel that much better! maybe they will last longer? i dono!

    B

i am definately a shimano fan and prefer them over daiwa but im not realy that picky as long as its good for what i want im happy ill chek em all out t the shop and see whch i prefer thanks guys

  7. I kept my salmon last weekend. It was the first time I caught one, so took it home and had it for dinner.

I cooked it in the oven with butter and herbs but wasn't overly impressed with the flavour. Maybe it's just me, but the bream and trevally I've caught have been clearly superior in flavour. Maybe it's better as sashimi with some soy and wasabi, but a whole salmon is a LOT of sashimi.

haha yer i caught a 4kg one in central coast a few months ago we put it in the oven wasnt tasting very nice but there was alot of meat there

  8. I second that. I was there on Saturday for a few hours, and a mixture of salmon and kingies were being landed from the wharf. The wharf gets crowded though, but I reckon the rocks to the front-right of the wharf would be a great spot to fish from and nobody was there. Guess it takes a bit of effort to scramble over them to the good spots and nobody bothers because the wharf is too easy. My local tackle shop guy reckons that the deep water is accessible from the rocks too.

I'm intend to fish for kingies from Clifton Gardens Wharf on Thurday evening after work - should be there around 5:30-ish. High tide is around 7pm. I intend to catch a nice legal kingy for dinner! If anyone is there say hi. I'll be the guy with the red rod bag and the Slapstix stick bait, vigorously casting and retrieving :)

thanx i might see you there on thursday, ive been clifton many times and i no it very well and my dad has fished it his whole life i didnt know it produced kingies but

i might go there on saturday aswell to see if its packed or not becos im supposed to be goin to a spot neer there so i mite try it out and maybe those roks if they dont look too dangerous.
