  2. A fish at Avoca is always nice and to have a battle with a big thing as well is better, I agree with Moses could have been a Cobia. Earlier on that Wednesday the salmon pushed ahuge school of bait fish into the rock pool and on to the beach , that would have been a sight to see.. Cheers..

yer haha you should have seen it there was more bait fish in the rock pool than water haha ther was some people even getting them with there hands an putting em in a bucket for baite there was that many also in the morning some surfers told me there was sharks chasing the salmon

also the day after i saw a whale and some guys told me they were there the day befor

haha how about that aye bait fish geting chased by salmon salmon getting chased by sharks and a few whales to top it off

also went patonga on friday but there was to much wind didnt catch anything

p.s. found i saw your cave

  3. Gday raiders,

Went to avoca rocks last wednesday the 8/10 for a quick fish at about 12:30 in the afternoom went out with only one silver spinner jig forgot all other equipment java script:emoticon(':ranting2:',%20'smid_15')

when i arrived there was already quite a few people no one seemed to have anything except one guy who had a 70 cm salmon and another who had caught about a dozen about 10 minutes after i arrived

anyways after picking a spot i started casting after about my fifth i was on i was soo happy i dunno if anyone else has ever got that weird feeling when they hook on to a fish an they no its one that they've been wanting to catch for ages well yer anyway 5 mins later i pulled it up a nice 63 cm about 3.5-4kg salmon i was cheeringjava script:emoticon('',%20'smid_18')

i then had a few more casts but no fish soo i moved spots and on my firast cast i saw this big fat fish with black stripes following the jib but not actualy attacking weird any way next cast im on again this ones big i see him hes about a metre and a half away from me now hes at least 90 cm maybe a metre then SNAP he swam under/around a massive rock snappd the line

    ohwel java script:emoticon(':05:',%20'smid_2')

as that was all i had on me and people were coming to visit i just went and didnt bother coming bakfor another hour by that time all fish were gone

if i can put the picks on my pc later ill upload em anyway

    cheers guys

  4. Hi Raiders, Went down to Patonga today about 3:00pm, My Darwin part of the family is here at the moment so I took my nephew Shane to Patonga and showed him how we get flatties down this part of the world, he is a great fisho , I mean hard not to be when you are born and raised in Darwin and mum and dad own a big charter business as well as a couple of tackle shops. Anyway Ileant him a stradic rack raider combo, put on a chartruese shad 4 casts later his gets his first ever flattie, I chime in with one a few casts later and for the next hour and a half in was all flatties , we kept 6 good ones and put a few back as well as dropping a few more so it was a great little session, Shane was thrilled as this was his first time at Patonga and his first flattie, he had only seen them in vids and books.

I found a nice cave around there could make it in to a neat little pad, wont have to walk so far then..

Anyway thats it I got the young fella a fish , they go back to Darwin tomorrow ,

Steve and Cheryl ( Shanes mum & dad) will be busy in the shops and the 3 big charter boats , back to the land of the big barra, can't wait to get back up there again with my family, maybe next year..

    Cheers...
