  1. I sympathise with you - same problem. I researched this to the enth degree after I lost my second pair, and I can assure you of a couple of things: If you buy expensive sunnies like Mako or Maui or Spotters or whatever, you are wasting you hard earned because you are only getting the frames, the lens is replaced. If you want a graduated multifocal in polorised, get prepared for a long look and a big shock. You will not get the above under $400, anywhere! If you can let me know! usual price around $450 to $575 or so. I have looked at overseas and all options I can think of but getting MULTIFOCAL and POLORISING together means $$$$$$. Bifocals a little cheaper.
  2. Bob, I think you should give them to me for Christmas then and I promise to show them some tuna... or try to at least! Chris
  3. Thanks for it too - I love it so much I used it as my desktop. I agree with you about makos too... I hated to kill the last one, I don't think I'll do it again. How long do you think it was? My last was about 7' and 100 kg (estimated) round figures.
  4. Thanks all... all I will be doing is trolling for tuna (SBT) and not big fish, I guess 30kg would be the biggest expected. If I got a 100kg one and smashed everthing I think I'd still be happy! Do I need a top quality product to do this? (Will check out Kilwell thanks Joe, they make a very nice fly rod for the money too)
  5. I'm planning to put outriggers on my 20' boat. I know how you "get what you pay for" and all that, and I own some top end gear too. Also I own some cheap stuff where expense is just not justified, IMHO! With outriggers, can anybody tell me what I am actually getting if I buy say Reelax or similar.... if you look at ebay for example some much cheaper options still use reelax mounts etc, so I don't see why the poles should cost so much? Do I need to spend that much money just to hold a skirt out to tempt a SBT???? "Preciate ya help.
  6. Can see absolutely no reason why it should not go over the side... other than the amount of slack in the line to the rod tip creating a backlash on the strike... if you load the rod up as much as you can before the clip releases you can overcome this. Also make sure you put some wirecutters or something handy - if the bomb hangs up on something and the wind is blowing you can be in big trouble.
