  1. Well done Erroll! Certainly busted the cherry in a big way! To catch a Marlin so close to home in your own boat is a big achievement. That will be a day we will all remember for a very long time. To see her in the water all lit up was an amazing sight! You fought her very well. We'll never know the exact length and weight, but we'll always know how awesome that day was.
  2. Awesome fish! It's a great anticipation when you get good livies and lob them over the side - you always hope for the cracker king and you guys nailed it!
  3. I read the title of the post and I thought, 'I wonder if that's Chewie?'. But I remembered you were meant to be a on a romantic weekend away so figured, no way!! Sure, enough. Nice fish there mate and a great part of the world.
  4. First hood post on the season?! Great stuff!
  5. Erroll, Well done on finally breaking the drought - with a massive downpour. It's hard working getting everything to align (weather, fish, day off, mates with a day off, wifey, boat, etc) and you smashed it. Great stuff. I know what I'm having for dinner tonight!
  6. Maybe give circle hooks a go too. Particularly if you want to release all your catch. Any one recommend a good circle for bream?
  7. Couple of beautiful looking fish there. Nice work of the strategy too, well done.
  8. Same! I also got the best by catch ever when a snapper took my down rigged yakka on the weekend. Flukey, but I smiled for days!!
  9. Nice! I got a 57cm one on the weekend (caught on a downrigged yakka!). 75cm is superb.
  10. Bonnie is superb sashimi. Good tip is to get it cold so it firms up a bit. One recommendation is to wrap the fillet in glad wrap and keep it in the fridge over night. Great work and impressive kitchen skills. Great idea to buy the rice from the local restaurant.
  11. The King in the photo looks a beast! Nice work
  12. Brilliant fish mate. You look just a little bit happy!!
  13. 22kg king on a popper!! That would have got the heart pumping. Amazing work all round. Well done.
  14. I've fished with mates before where the yakkas get hit and the squid don't. I've formed the view that squid are better inside the Harbour and not as important once you get outside the Heads. So rather than waste time getting squid when heading out, I'd prefer to quickly load up with yakkas and start trolling.
  15. Superb! Well done. How long was the fight?
  16. Nice effort. Nice session. Nice flattie. Nice release. Nice boat! Well done lads.
  17. Agreed - it all comes down to budget and towing capacity. I had a Grady White 228 and it was an amazing boat in all seas and rock solid. Absolutely brilliant. Pricey though. But don't take my word for it, read the forums.. Take the Sade CD and play Smooth Operator!! Cheers CD
  18. Nice fish mate. If I read right, you scoped out your own spot. If so, well done!
  19. Most of those whiting are bigger than that kingy in your profile pic! Well done mate, great session. If she watched the rugby with you after the fishing, I think you might want to start thinking about a promotion!
  20. Good report mate, that pretty much sums up the expedition. But, one thing you forgot to mention is the 2 (one each) 50cm flatties that we each tried to put in the live bait tank for safe keeping. Mine slipped out of my hands and quickly darted back to the depths and yours did the same about 20mimutes later! D'oh.
  21. Everyone seems to love their Reef Magic trips! Well done Mike & Dave, you guys obviously run a great operation.
  22. Its nearly as big as him! Wish I could say that about my flathead. Great pic and thanks for sharing
  23. Awesome work, great tactics with the sharks and well worth it. Beautiful YFT!
