6.30 am off for a fish. Then it started with a bearing on the trailer going just as I got to the ramp, so boat on the jetty and off to the trailer man to repair .all done so lucky he could do straight away . On with the fishing ,collected some Yacka around the middle head spots the decided to troll out past the heads with a  xrap deep diver . Heading to the fads ,then bang kingfish 85 cm in the esky and now I'm buzzing. Did the fads and wave rider for nothing. ( didn't really care ) fantastic day out on the water,a pod of dolphins came and said hi. So on the way back I thought what would be a good starter with the kingfish??🤔 calamari ,so I give it a go outside. (because someone wrote a great report on here ) Then bang first drop the  biggest squid I have ever caught.  So that's enough fish and calamari to feed my gang so home and looking forward to dinner .let all the bait fish go for another day .

  3. Thanks guys for your comments, a very strong tasting meat not sure if I would target them? But don't fancy trying to unhook and then trying to pick up to release with them big teeth snapping around. Like pickles said would bleed a lot.cheers

  4. Had a quick trip to the Sydney Fad and wave-rider this morning , heaps of small dollies and small King fish great fun but no keepers ,

one of the pro's hooked a marlin don't Know if they got him  or not, Fantastic on the water just a little lumpy.

    beats working cheers

  5. Hi Guys

I had a accident a couple of years back, lost my boat on long reef scared the s--t out of me and cost a fortune,I was lucky and caught my life jacket as it passed me,since then I'm back on the water in a 4.1 centre console tinnie, with areofloats on each side and wear my life jacket(slim one) all the time, and like car seat belts, feels strange not having it on, so wear one anyway and be safer, now i sometimes forget its on and start to drive home with it still on,

  6. Hi went out today at roseville, no sight of the bonnies so went to the heads and around the south side for 1 mactuna, bottom bashed for about ten small flathead, all fish released, went to north head for nothing then caught one yaka (foul hooked, but bait )went to wedding cakes and the yaka were all around the base hundreds but not interested in any bait I had,I put my only livey I had and bang a samon had it,tryed for more bait but gave up after about half an hour,(sick of being ignored by them,)great day on the water, can't wait for more, cheers

  8. Hi Raiders

Please take care around Long Reef,

On Tue. 8-2-11 while passing Long Reef point about 50 meters wide I was trolling and hit into what sounded like a King or Big Bonnie? when I went in neutral for a split second to grab the rod, a wave from flat sea took my boat turned and ran me strait at the rocks,I still had time to put it in reverse but no chance of stopping. Then she turned and rolled me still in her,Smash bang water every where, screen hit my head and split second saw light and got out, floating with upturned boat, grabbed a seat that was there and my life jacket at the side ( taken off five minutes before, because so calm ) ropes every where but manage to get free, inflate the jacket and hold on to it and the seat,

This is when I said to myself, your not getting out of this, nobody there to help, smell of petrol, sea bashing against the rocks, 5.5 m half cabin floating upside down " will drowning hurt I said to myself,"

Then a voice in my head said get out Anthony and go at the rocks , a smaller wave pushed me towards a small opening and up on the rock , then another , cut every where , not to bad scrambled to safety,if another big wave had come then there would have been no chance, wave to a rock fisho, and thanks to him if he reads this, called ooo for help, that's another story,,,

All in all a great day turned bad, very bad, but I'm still here to tell you ALL PLEASE TAKE CARE,

Now the worst bit, forgot to renew the insurance, and lost the lot....can't believe it. and have got to remove the remains from the beach at weekend, ( help and Ideas appreciated,)

if any ideas you can call me on 0404191959, Anthony

    There is not much left,

  9. Man, how come this never happens to me lol!

I was out on Sunday and made it to North head while the sun went down, lost one fish, don't know what it was, but that was it.

  10. Hi all

went for a fish this arvo, about 1pm went and got some yacka , can't get a squid for love nor money,5 yacka on board thought I would try around the cakes first livey down 30 seconds and wham first ever Kingy only 60 cm so a quick kiss and off she or he swam, no camera so a kiss will have to do,

kings were braking up all over but no takers on lures so tried an almost livey flicked in the middle of them and wham another 60 cm so again the kiss and smile and back they go, one day I will get a keeper but they are such a fantastic power house it's a shame to eat them, got the call to go, so that was that, great day all in all,get out there

    cheers
