  1. Born and bred in Zimbabwe I used to enjoy loads of fishing on the Zambesi River. Tigers are certainly great fun, my best was 6.5 kg but have seen lots bigger than that. Unfortunately they aren't great eating, too many little bones however we used to make pickled fish out of them which was good. The vinegar and that made the bones really soft. Thanks for stirring up the old memories.

Maianbar is on the south side of Port Hacking near Bundeena. Access is via the Royal National Park.
  3. It goes without saying, ensure that you have keel rollers to take the weight of the boat, in addition to the wobble rollers to keep it straight. I saw a boat last week with a big crack right through the side of the hull. It had been travelling on a trailer without keel rollers, only support was the wobble rollers. Ouch!

    Boating Costs?

Tim, if you are buying a used boat then I would strongly advise getting it checked out by someone in the know, unless you are confident in doing it yourself, bit like an NRMA inspection. Approx. $170 spent now could save thousands later. Cheers, Mike
  5. Hi Jocool, I'll see what I can do with regards to getting photo's of the job as it progresses. Due to workload the job isn't going to start for a week or two. I'll keep you posted. Cheers Mike
  6. Thanks very much for the welcome and the replies. The boat has gone off for repair - what's that about BOAT = Bet On Another Thousand! Cheers Mike
  7. Hi there Have been lurking on this site for a while now, so it's about time I logged on! I took the seats and carpet out of my 5.2m fibreglass runabout this weekend and found a very soft spot on part of the flooring. Having cut a section away the ply has disintegrated and a some of the stringers appear to be rotten. I would love to try and tackle the stringer and floor replacement myself, like Ian, but just don't have the time. As such can anybody recommend a decent repairer in the Syndey area who would be able to sort it out for me? Thanks in advance. Cheers Mike
