Blood Knot Posted March 11, 2006 Share Posted March 11, 2006 Hi - Raiders Planning at trip to Lord Howe shortly - anyone been over there lately. Like to get some info on good sport fishing charters, what sort of tackle to take (given the 14kg luggage limit etc), land based spots and cheapest beer on the island. I have tapped into the usual sources - internet etc, but love to hear any personal experiences. Expect to take gear for Kingfish but hear they are a bit heavier than your average Sydney Harbour Kingy. Any info greatly appreciated. The yellow submarines of Lord Howe will destroy anything you want to throw at them !!! A mates Uncle used to run a charter boat out of Lord Howe "The Capella" they could throw chain down and still get smashed!!!! Guest bluecod Posted March 11, 2006 Share Posted March 11, 2006 100lb handline is the go on the charters for kings brother used to go there each year and 150lb cord line with dead whole mullet in the lagoon at night used to see him dragged down the beach on a regular basis - no fish but a lot of fun.
