MrChipsnSalad
I went down to the Spit to wet a line yesterday. Got there about 1.30pm, and fished until about 4.30pm. A mate and myself fished on the Southern side, off the wall under the bridge. We did not get any keepers, but there were plenty of fish around. Long casts between the 2nd and 3rd pylon (counting towards the north) were bringing in small Trevally on pilchard fillets, rigged with no.1 baitholders and running sinkers. Shorter casts on the same rig were bringing in a number of small pinky Snapper, as well as the unavoidable Leather Jackets. We tried prawns and pilchards as bait, but definitely had more success on the pilchards. There were also a few boats moored around the area, but we did not see much action aboard. The Waterways boats were up and down in the area all afternoon. I'll be looking for another spot this afternoon, with the favorable tides again
