miller Posted July 30, 2006 Share Posted July 30, 2006 Hi Raiders nice day on the water in the morning headed out side came across big school of sambos 5 min later a large pod of dolphins decided it was dinner time and proceeded to smash them to pieces sambos gone On the way back came across a whale dont know what kind but it was way bigger than my 5m tinny Parked at north head caught a heap of travs and leather jackets home by 2pm all in all a good day Cheers Miller Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

cruisecraft Posted July 30, 2006 Share Posted July 30, 2006 Hi Miller I got there at 7.30 and saw the dolphins about, and did not know that they had just hammered the sambo schools, hence I spent the next hour scooting about north head and then south head for sambo action to no avail.Ended up at Bluefish point but quiet time there.Regards. ps are the sambos usually at north head this time of the year (ie when the dolphins are not about)? The Sambos are a day to day proposition but they are pretty reliable around the heads at this time of year. There were some big schools working inside north head during the week. cruisecraft Posted July 31, 2006 Share Posted July 31, 2006 Thanks for the welcome JewHunter,it was a long way to come from the Hacking to The Heads.It took about 50 mins as the seas were 1.5 m swell and wind 10 knots in a 6.25m half cabin.The way back was slower as the wind got up to 25 knots or so. Last year I had a ball with the sambos at the Heads and I went this time after hearing such good reports on this forum from the members but thats fishing.Regards Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
