Flattieman Posted August 11, 2006 Share Posted August 11, 2006 Hmm... it's difficult to find something that'll suit kingies, but for trevs and flatties at least, a rod around 6'6" - 7' (I like longer rods) and a size 2500-3000 (or even 4000) reel with 8-12lb braid (or heavier with the 4000). A combo like this might be able to handle some rat kings, but I think some people who are more versed in the art of kingfishing can advise you as to whether it's a viable option. Flattieman.
