namesay Posted August 31, 2006 Share Posted August 31, 2006 Got out on the harbour on wednesday for a fish. The weather was crap so had the harbour to my self almost. Got a couple of squid. Tried some downrigging for kingies but nil luck. Salmon were working north head and into the sow and pigs. They were much easier to catch on soft plastics. Used resin heads with squidy flick baits and got takes almost every cast. Used a bubble float that you can fill with water to aid casting. Great fun on 6lb braid! But no kingies Also fished the yellow buoy off dobroyd reef. TONS of yellow leather jacket. caught a leathery every cast. My little one had a ball catching them. Great to eat too.
