Guest DV8
I have fished for 30 years and had plenty of reels but still have no idea why reels have a non return switch on them. Why in the world would you need to wind a reel backwards?? Just a silly liitle thought but can anyone give me a reason? Cheers Davo

Guest fishrunner
Back jigging, being where when anchored with current, rather than jigging a softplastic towards you against the current(looks unnatural) you cast out, jig the lure off the bottom then wind back to let the lure sink with the current. Keeps you in contact with the plastic and lets you cover lots of ground- have hooked good flaties 100 mtrs + behind the boat doing this . Other then that I find it annoying cheers
namesay
Its all marketing! My Shimano stella and the Daiwa saltigas do not have a backwind option. They charge you more for having less.GO figure Cheers Kelvin
Guest Aron
Never tried it - but would it have anything to do with fishing with the oposite hand - it reeling in with your left hand???
