Thunder
Are there any lobsters around Sydney Harbour or Botany Bay? I'm thinking about dropping a lobster pot in next time I am fishing. Cheers Greg
Gibbofisho
Mate the last two months are usually gun times for cray's, botany bay usually holds some but because the water didn't really drop below 17 degrees this year they kinda bypassed sydney, try further south. FletcherG1991
im quite sure your allowed 1 pot Per Person and you can only put them in water 10m and less deep ..... i was thinking of putting a pot out soonish but wasn't sure what the lobster fisherie was like here
domza
theres heaps of pots down near coal cliff. I'm pretty sure its a commercial fisho, because theres over 50 bouys, which a guy in a tinny pulls up every few hours.

Guest DV8
Am I crazy or has anyone else read reports of people catching lobsters on a line??? Im sure Ive read it somewhere but has anyone actually caught one on a hook? I saw Peter Doyle (of Doyles reteraunt) talk about gettingthem as a kid in amongst the kelp in the harbour on handline. i never saw it done I only heard about it. It was probably in the good old days when lobbies were plentiful. I don't go for them. Itseems such a waste of a big creature for a proportionally small amount of meat. Martin
They have been taken from the Flint & Steel every now and then by hook and line. You will see the traps along the shore line. Don't all rush Cheers Martin
