Howdy all , I have been thinking about taking up flyfishing for some time now,I have had the rod for ages but no reel ,line or any idea on how to go about it. So today I went to australian bass angler to purchase some gear to get started. Couldnt have asked for more help and friendly advice so a big thumbs up to the guys especially phil, I am now fully kitted out and ready to go . cheers guys troutboy :1fishing1:

Good luck troutboy

Have a lesson with someone who knows what they are doing. I was fortunate enough to have a lesson with Steve Williamson in Jindabyne. He just made sure I didn't pick up any bads habits. Keep the wrist straight is all I can tellyou and have faith in the fly. The temptation is to strip it back too fast at first and start your next cast too early. Like fishing with HB's and SP's it is not unusual to have a fish hit right at your feet. Forget about it if you are learning with the wind up, and practice where there is no trees.
