Rose Bay

Went looking for a new boat today, and in between inspections

I had half an hour to kill,so as I was at Point Piper I decided to

head over to Rose Bay ramp and see if any one had caught any fish.

There was not much happening except for the coaches and tourists

around.

There was an old Italian bloke fishing the jetty over near Catalina,

he had a big long rod and it had a big bend in it.I walked over and

he had the biggest, fattest :1yikes: Blackfish I had ever seen,

he was having trouble netting it on his own,I offered to help him

and he declined,a minute or so later he was still having trouble so I

offered to help him again, and again he declined, and looked a bit

anoyed with me,so I stayed out of his way. Then he was swamped

by a heap of asian tourists who were all over him taking photos and

asking questions, and by this stage he was realy gettin ticked off.He

eventualy got the fish into his net and plonked it on the jetty and walked

away,so the tourists coul take as many photos as they wanted.

This luderick was an absolute stonker,I got photos on my phone

but dont know yet how to load them on my computer(im not a fan of

reading instruction manuals).I will have a go at it later on.

The old bloke put the fish in a keeper net nearby which contained

another Blackfish, this one was the size of ones Im accustomed to seeing

people catch.Anyway I said to him well done top fish and left.

I didnt know u could catch blackfish at this spot, just goes to show,

fish are where u find em.

and i bet they tasted like diesel :puke:

Yeah blackfish taste ordinary at the best of times! My old man loves blackfish but i recon is some phsycological thing to do with the fact that the fight really well on that light gear... He bleads them ans guts them straightaway generally but i still cant handle the flavour...

Top stuff, I never even thought of fishing for Blackfish there. I was fishing down there one day and my friend ended up being a prop for the tourists waiting for the ferry, they must have posed and taken 10 different group photos with him, I just kept fishing and laughing my guts up at him.

Cheers
