kabz Posted December 25, 2006 Share Posted December 25, 2006 gday fellow raiders plan was to go to port kembla again this morning but bom said to choppy so headed to botany bay as i got to the ramp couldnt believe it no swell or waves at all just flat like oil so went straight to bare island and tried to get some squid got 1 nice one straight awway n got a small one around 10cm perfect for kingfish so went straight to oil wharf put them down and but didnt cath nothing even saw a kingfish chasing baitfish jumping around but did not want our squid but used pillis and caught around 7trvallys and a nice 30cm snapper so we wanted to head home and on the way hpome saw a massive skool of tailor caught around 6 and lost around 5 at the boat with them being around thr 45 - 55cm mark. Guest Reely Posted December 25, 2006 Share Posted December 25, 2006 Nice work, just a tip about the weather, when they say westerlies, it usually means the ocean is reasonably flat up to about 5-8km's out, the headlands and Australia itself is sheltering the oceans from the wind.
