Ouch! Fishing lure catches dog's eyelid

Largo, Florida - Largo police Sgt. Bruno says it was the strangest call he has ever responded to. Neighbors called to complain that someone was honking the horn continously in a red SUV parked in the driveway in the 500 block of S.W. 6th Ave.

When Officer Bruno arrived, he found an adult male in the front seat with his arm stretched across his body. His right arm was tightly wrapped around the head of a large german shepard. The dog had his head in between the two front seats.

There was a large fishing lure, with multiple hooks, left in the car and somehow the dog got one of the hooks stuck in his eyelid. When the male attempted to help the dog, he reached over with his left hand and grabbed the lure. The dog flinched and one of the other hooks pierced the man's hand hooking him to the dog's eyelid.

The man was basically stuck in this position for quite a while as he honked the horn for attention while trying to keep the dog still so it didn't try to pull away.

Largo fire rescue responded and safely removed the hook from the man and the dog's eye.

The injuries seemed quite minor and the dog seemd unphased about the whole experience.
