zrealist
Hi all, My friend locodave (top bloke) took me out fishing on the Hawkesbury on the weekend. Tks locodave for the trip. It was a great day out on the water. We caught a couple of rock cods. These were some scary looking fish, they were a bright red and had spikes around the head. Now I was just wondering if these rock rods are edible? Is there a legal size limit to them? Any help will be much appreciated.
zrealist
Thanks Stewy! Do you know if there are any legal size limits to Rock Cods? Vic
zrealist
Quite an ugly looking fish isn't it? My friend's gf didn't like the look of them too much. So back in the drink they went. I might try eating one the next time I catch one. Tks Stewy!

Flightmanager
Looks bad , tastes good. These fish are sometimes known as " The Poor Mans Lobster" . As Stewy Said , just clean them , I cut off the spines , and boil them . They really do taste like lobster !!! Ross
Guest DV8
I am yet to try the old "poor mans lobster". Its always on my mind on those days when you catch nothing. I think the worst part about bringing home red rock cod is the embarassment of being seen at the ramp with nothing else. Locodave - Hows the new boat going? It looks really well set up!! davo
