Jewhunter
G'day all. Just got back from a quick session on Clarrie Hall Dam trying to get my birthday fish & break in my new Struddie SicStic I picked up a while back. Started off using surface lures while Bear used b.m's. He got dusted on a log pretty quickly. Nothing on the popper for me. I switched over to a bettlespin with an atomic grub for zip. Mmmm not looking good. Only an hours fishing left & still no b/day fish. Bugger it I thought. Back to what I know works up here. 3" Pearl Blue b.m with a bit of scent for luck. 2nd cast got smashed & what a top fight. Out into open water & it just went nuts. Gee they're a top sportfish. My new plac p.b of 41cm. Two casts later & I'm on again to another strong fish that gave a great account of itself. This one went 36cm. So I got my B/day fish & I'm happy. Now for a beer!! Cheers, Grant.
