DaveD
Take a pick, how many of you out there still dont mind using the good old hand reels when your fishing regardless of where you are. I'm more comfortable with em in all honesty, still adapting to rods but just wondering what you raiders are doing out there. Always good to see some opinions too, goods and bads. domza
these days i only ever use handlines to get live bait, it takes to long to wind a handline in, especially when in deep water...
DaveD
Doesn't seem like "good old hand reels" at all...
henryinnis
I would say rod because easy to wind and hold, handlines just are confusing.

Guest DV8
Nice poll I only use handlines except when spinning when at sea. The advantage of handlines over rods is that you can take heaps with you and you can just pull out another one if the fish are a bit picky. My arsenal of handlines includes 2 x 9 lb 4 x 20 lb 4 x 30 lb I usually use my 20 lb ers but it is not uncommon for me to change to the 9 lbs if the snapper are abit touchy. The other beauty is when one gets tangled I just pull out another one. The disadvantage is that the kingies can really mess you up with 50 m of line at your feet in the boat. I don't think I will ever change. Davo
