mrmoshe Posted January 30, 2007 Share Posted January 30, 2007 Fisherman survives six-hour ordeal A fisherman spent six hours in the water after his fishing trawler sank off Newcastle, authorities said today. An ambulance spokesman said the man had been missing for several hours before he was rescued about 7.20am (AEDT), 10 nautical miles off Nobbys Head, at Newcastle. The man had been fishing on his boat when it allegedly broke apart. A police launch located the fisherman and helped transport him to land, where his condition was assessed by ambulance officers.
