Guest Plastic Fanatic
G'Day all Although I release a lot of the fish I catch I still like a feed of Flathead. My general rule is that I keep a couple between 40 - 60cm(max). What do you consider to be the maximum size you should keep before you consider them breeders and 'instant releases?'. Flattieman
to Fishraider, PF. Here's a topic that discusses your question (my answer included): http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/inde...showtopic=13700 Flattieman.
costello
I think you can only keep one over 50cm or something along those lines (differs from different species of Flathead). I prefer them between 40cm-50cm anything over 50cm I tend to let go, as long as I have a couple already in the bag. Cheers, Mark
Guest Plastic Fanatic
Thanks fellas Pretty sure you can only keep 1 fish over 70cm but this measurement is over my maximum anyway so all good there. Your link was very interesting flattieman! Think i will reduce my limit to 55cm (max) and see how I go from there! Fortunately the flathead are everywhere at the moment. (Last Sat caught 11 between 25cm and 82cm). Highly recommend the Squidgy Prawns in all colors! Thank you again for the advice folks PF
