KingsRule
Hey guys never really take to much notice of the tide, but recebtly i have been paying more and more attention. I have seen that maybe 2hours either side of the tide change seems to be the time with the most action. Any else have any other views on this? Guest Reely
To me there are 5 stages of a tide in an estuary, when it slows in these stages is the best time. But as you said usually for all fishing either side of the tide changes is the best.

Guest DV8
For what it is worth, there is a rule of twelfths with the tide. It goes like this: 1st hour; 1/12 of tidal movement. 2nd hour 2/12( 1/6) of tidal movement 3rd hour 3/12 (1/4) of tidal movement 4th hour 3/12 (1/4) of tidal movement 5th hour 2/12 (1/6) of tidal movement 6th hour 1/12 tidal movement. i.e most of the water moves around in the 3rd and 4th hours Hope you find this helpful. davo
Guest Reely
Davo thats pretty cool, where did you get that from, they are the 5 stages i know of, just did not know you could break it down in hours. As you wrote, 2hrs of the stage are the same, making it 5 stages. Thats cool. K.
