HH17L Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Hi, I have just purchased a Wilson Live Fibre "Lightning" spin rod to chase bream, whiting etc. It is a 5"10' rod, rated 2-3kg, i need some advice on which reel to use out of the following three options that i already have. 1. Shimano Sustain 1000FD. 2. Daiwa Laguna 2000. 3. Daiwa Caprice 1500. I will be using braid and/or mono line depending on conditions. I am leaning towards the Shimano at this stage. Your thoughts please.
gretsch Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I am a Shimano fan. I would put the Sustain on it. You could also invest in an Stella - either 1000 or 2500. Just ensure you put 4lb Fireline on it to avoid those pesky loops when reeling up the slack. Nice little stik though.. shoulb be fun with a decent fish on the end.
