paulg
Thank you raiders, for the help in catching poddies. I got 20, from the Geroges River on saturday morning, with one of those mesh traps. Unfortunately, i took them out in the hacking and got ZIP. I drifted near the deep water at lili pilli, = zip drifted in front of yowie and Gymea Bay, = zip drifted and anchored in gunmatta bay drop offs in front of darook , zip. anchored in the channel near the bundeena point, zip. The mullets were being terrorised by small snapper at times.. Pretty shattered. I have never been able to bring anything home from the hacking. I thought with live mullets i would be able to get something.

Guest IFishSick.
Mate, give them a go right along the baths next time and off the spit there where the Buoy is. Likely Flathead spots.
livo
You beauty on the Poddys. At least you got that part of it worked out. Take note of the tide when you got them. What was it doing? What time of day? etc etc. As with any fishing, certain conditions work best in different spots. and catching bait is no different. Bad luck about nothing eating them though. paulg
yeah ill keep the conditions in mind. It was at the top of the 1.8 m tide. Are others getting fish from the hacking ? Becasue the last 7 times i have been in the hacking i have caught zilch. Harbour is a different story. I have never came back fishless. IFISHSICK, what part of the tide do you recommend for the spit and the baths, for flatties. MR RB.

I have tried a couple of places with no luck so far and will hopefully be trying again on Friday afternoon for a trip to Botany Bay on Saturday

The Iceman
You may be better off trying the sandbanks up around Greys Point with the live poddiesHave caught some good flatties up around there
paulg
You can get them from any beach along the georges. I got mine from Kelso Beach. it was the top of the tide. MR RB.
