Chris 55
Vitsky Best thing is to have a look around the area at low tide especially now the low is about 0.2 mt and check out structure that would provide cover and food like a rock reef or some large rocks that have weed or barnacles and weed beds Use berley mix (soaked bread, pollard or bran mixed with old soft pilchards and tuna oil or tinned cat food) with some sand added to it to attract bait fish Throw out a handful and repeat every 5 minutes or so reduce the size of the offering after the first couple of throws (don't want to feed them too much) Use a Sabiki style jig rig under a float (float will give the weight for casting) if there is any Yakka or Slimies around you should be on For squid check for weed beds to spin a squid jig around search the site for jigging techniques and jig brands that work better than others like Yozuri and Yamashita Good luck Chris Edited March 21, 2007 by Chris
Davy
lol howd it turn into love bites? Vitsyk, it depends on the fish you want to target (catching squid with squid jigs for kings or jews etc) others can be mullet or yellowtail in which you can find anywhere with good structure like off a wharf for example, just burley with bread and a dash of tuna oil and they should come to the surface, you can use the search function to search for places that suit you. mullet can be caught with a homemade trap (search "poddy mullet trap'' or 'POTTY mullet trap' was the title of a pretty good one ) for yellowtail its justa a matter of catching the little buggers on the smallest hook you can buy with a bit of mince or bits of fish, forgot what size hook to use tho. theres tons you can use for bait, but also depends what youre targeting! search the site to suit your needs!
