keenas Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Hey all, Just wondering if there is a easy way to remove large rego sticker off painted hull?? It's a decal about 300mm high and nearly a metre long, tried picking it off with my fingers but was only getting tiny bits off. Thanks any help is appreciated keenas
micksfishn Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 hi there i use a heat gun15-20seconds) to remove stickers it softens the glue and you should be abe to pull it straight off then a bit of whitespirits or kero to get the remaining glue off (doont heat the whole sticker at once just do it bit by bit. cheers mick.

johnno Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 as above is correct but NOTE do not heat painted hulls to hot if it is to hot it could bubble the paint work
gazza l Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Also another way is to use a caramel wheel. It looks like a plug with a spindle it goes onto your drill at highspeed it acts like a eraser,no worries about burning your paint(see your local panel shop he may have a old one) REGARDS
Guest mrs_rzep Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 When we removed our stickers we just made sure that they were facing the sun for a while and then sat out there and peeled them off - You need some patience but the heat from the sun helps alot.
