warnie Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Fishraiders To all.......... that get a bit discouraged with catching your favourite fish at times then be adventurous with your bait selection whilst certainaly...... fresh is best............. some times go figure. Why is it trout will wolf down power bait yet at the same time ignore my lovely juicey worms Whilst tuna fishing I couldn't lose a bait whilst my mate hooked and caught a 42kg y/tuna on a lamington yes a lamington !!!!!!! Whilst having lunch inside of cabbage tree port stephens as a joke we put a chicken bone on a hook attached with an elastic band result a 5.6 kg snapper........................ Shark fishing..... had a shark come and go for 2 hrs refusing every lovely bait presented to him.........his eventual downfall he took a section of the carboard box the mullet came in.... none of these are unique i know...... But as they say......Thats Fishing Cheers Warnie

Steve07 Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I found a chicken bone in a snapper too once, just wish it was 5.6kg.Also down at narooma when we go for yellowfin, the fish that feed on the left over tuna frames are unbelievable,we walk down at night to the jetty inside narooma inlet with a light flick stick and a few cubes of tuna, not only would you have a ball catching bream, blurters & flathead, but would you believe we would also get mullet & even blackfish,on tuna!mate its unbelievable, like you said thats fishin & never stop learning; cheers, steve
Davemmm Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Not that long ago I was fishing for mullet and after continually losing bread bait but no hook up. Brought my rig in to rebait. The bare hooks were hanging over the side of the boat just in ther water whilst I flattened out some bread when I hooked and landed a legal mullet. Not much of a fight just lifted the rod. Shows how good a fisherman I am................not Dave
Jimmy C Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Yeah we were teahing my sister to cast one day and didn't have any bait on the hook - the result - a little flatty on the bare hook!
KingsRule Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I love these types of stories, they crack me up everytime Only one comes to mind on my behalf, me and a friend were fishing for yakkas at balmoral a few years ago suddenly a schools of gars makes an appearance, seeing as the bait jig was already tied on we tried to use it but the sinker was to heavy, my mate took it off and went awat to fetch another , they were at our feet so i thought bugger it and tried it, managed one not on the baitjig hooks , but the open snap swivel! , was properly hooked in the top of the mouth to!!!
