neilm Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Hey Raiders, anyone here ever fished land based in Darwin? I'm going up for a holiday in early September and would be extremely grateful if anyone can give me any advice on what to target, locations, gear or anything. I'm a complete novice when it comes to fishing the tropics, so I'm all ears . I have got the North Australian fish finder mag which is apparently the bible, but you can't get too much information when it comes to fishing. Any help much appreciated. Cheers, neilm
bolan Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 We stayed there for a few days and then went up to Cape Don. It is going to be bloody hot up there, but your right on a pretty good time to fish! If I was going LB there, I would pop into the fishing tackle shop thats IN TOWN. Its very good and the guys will spend as much time with you as you need.I have no doubts that they will point you in the right direction without a problem whatsoever. They geared me up to go to Cape Don, only to find that the Fishing Guide up there used exactly the same outfits himself. Can't beat that. P.S Dont wander on your own, as there are crocs everywhere. Have Fun- I'm jealous Stumpy
neilm Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 Thanks Stumpy. Let's hope I have something good to report!
