ambigua Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Hi all, This is my first post on this site. I am not to sure what record this falls under, maybe Fattest cod caught on lure ???? Anyways this 106cm tonka was caught on bassman spinnerbait at Googong Dam last season. It might just be the fattest murray cod ever photgraped/caught, for its length that is. This photo was taken as i was sliding her of my knees back into the drink, so i could not support all her weight on my legs as much as the other pic's. She was so fat i could not support her belly at all with my arm's, thats why i used my legs as much as i could. This big girl was released with out any trouble, because the fight was short, and she was not out of the water for long. Whats's peoples estimation on wieght??? Going of the average in googong, which puts a 106cm fish at around 55 pounds, and a previous 103 cm Lake Burley Griffin cod (which was much, much easyer to lift). I would put this fish at least 80 pound, maybe even creaping close to the magic 100 pound mark. This was a magic day for me and would bloody hard to top. Have a good one everyone and will be looking forward to some replys.
