Low Profile Baitcasters

im waiting for my baitcaster to arrive in the mail, i have a rod and some braid ready....

but what i need is some tips and advice on how to use it, any information would be appreciated.

hey mate

I have one and here are some tips, 1- as you cast role your wrist in so the reel is horizontal, 2 make sure the spool tension know allows the lure to slowly fall to the ground and 3 use a bucket in the pool and try to cast into it to improve your accurracy.

p.s what baitcaster are you getting.

well i got it now, its a shimano citica, i thought it would be really challenging to use one, but i got the hang real quick, cheers thanks for the bucket tip

Start with a lure/plug that is on the heavier side of what the rod and reel are rated.

I have a shimano crestfire,, top little reel owned for a few years it is spooled with 300meters of 8lb braid.

Caught everything from yakkas, bream, whiting, shovelnose sharks, flathead, dolphinfish, kingfish(rats at fad) trevally, flounder, at first i was using mono as i kept getting birdsnests but now i have found the right setup and it's eays to use.

i love using it, the only thing is the drag is quiet, but hey... ill live.
