Hi Roylo I use 8lb weight downrigger bombs in 70 feet of water at wobby shore on the Hawkesbury and the current can literally fly thru there. Sometimes on the bigger tides anchors won't hold and I have to throw a bow rope around one of the vacant buoys to hold the boat. I am looking to upsize to 10lb bombs so I hopes this info helps you with your question.
