Motor Flushing Additive

Just been talking to a fella who tells me he uses an additive in the water when he is flushing the motor. My short term memory loss means I cant recall the product name but it was something like "salt gone" or "salt away".

Is this necessary or is it a gimmic?

Salt away. I does not appear to be a gimmick but I have not used it myself.

I use a product called "Salt Terminator" it works really well I use it on any of my gear that comes into contact with saltwater.

It forms a barrier to salt and the more often you use it the better it works

I wait till the motor is warm and squirt some detregent in then run until it flushs out.
