Phar Cue
Fished out of Jervis on Sunday and trolled up one yellowfin tuna of 18kg and about 15 Striped Tuna. Water was a cool 16.5c and fish were caught only about 5 k's off shore. Great cons until the SWer came up. Another mate got 3 Yellowfin to 25kg and dropped a horse of about 40-50kgs at the boat. So they are still out there.
sanger
Nice work good to see they are still around.... suprised you got a yellowfin in 16 degree water, that shows that the fish dont read the same rule book as everyone else that tells them they are only supposed to be in 18 degree + water!!!! xiphias_gladius
Nice work good to see they are still around.... suprised you got a yellowfin in 16 degree water, that shows that the fish dont read the same rule book as everyone else that tells them they are only supposed to be in 18 degree + water!!!! SST charts showed 16ºC in close but 18-19 out wider off JB (shelf) - good chance the fish were sticking on the cold side off the front. This is not uncommon. Don't discount cold water for 'fin as we've caught plenty in 16-17ºC over the years off JB. It's more about the temp breaks, bait, plankton etc etc. Heaps of stripies also a good sign. Nice to see a few around, well done - I just wish I could pick the weather. Cheers XG.
