Night Squid Fishing

Just want to get some advice on squid fishing at night.

Im assuming lures would be the same and so would the set up like you would be fishing during the day but just wanted to see if you had to do anything different like adding a glow stick etc above the lure to make it more visible in the water.

Any info would be appreciated.

Frankp....

We often squid in the dark. Normally. we are trying from 4.00am onwards and the lures which seem to work are the white lumo models in size 2.5-3.5. Give them a charge up with your torch or a light on the boat.

If you are fishing using a paternoster rig, use the light sticks just above the jig. You can use regular jigs for this method as the light will expose them. When we are using this method (normally for arrow squid), we tend to use smaller 1.8-2.0 jigs.

Good luck!!
