I'm just wondering does the shaft need to be braced or pinned to stop it moving around in transit while Im towing the boat around? Its 54inch shaft.. It seems pretty stable on there and the shaft has lifetime warranty... whats the experience of others that have bow mount leckies fitted? Does it need bracing for transportation? Bill S Posted December 27, 2004 Share Posted December 27, 2004 (edited) Jaso I don't brace mine, but the thing does flog around a helluva lot and I wonder about the coiled wiring breaking prematurely. When towing, I velcro strap the coiled cable to the shaft to reduce the movement and run a strap to stop the motor moving forward out of its cradle and through my rear wind screen .
