Hi All,

Im planning to head down to Penrith Weir this w'end...since i am still an amateur to the whole fishing scene :1fishing1: , would like to know what fish varieties you catch there and what should i use as bait?..live bait or plastic etc..

hi mate

there are bass/mullet/carp :thumbdown: /herring/eel tail catfish at the weir

you can use corn n bread for mullet/herring/carp

and lures for bass or worms

for bass, surface lures and worms, live or frozen? which is better? ? and for Mullet, can i just stick some bread to the hook and let it float?..

mate i use surface lures and have seen blokes using live worms and get some bass

small float small hook and a little bread will bring u some mullet

if you type in the search section on the main page u will find heaps of thread on the wier

Hi Ritchie,

I was up the backwaters of the Nepean early last week and the water was pretty dirty but there was still alot of carp rolling on the surface. Spinners work well on the Bass up that way.

I havent been to the wier and tomorrow will be my 1st time..im planning to walk across the park near the rowing club and cast line from that end..what u reckon??..

carp no good..i want BASS !!! :1fishing1:
