Hi all

Well as 2007 is about to be a memory

did you get to tick some fish off the list you have of things to catch this year.

Well for me coming back to Fishing after a very long break, it has been great and many a first for me.

this year my ticks are

first squid plus many more

first salmon 67cm

first kingy 59cm (not legal)

first flathead on hardbody

first Australian Bass

first octopus (haha)

thanks to many a people for all the info and the help.

So what are some of yours?

i havent go my 1m kingies yet closest was 87cm damn it, new pb though.

first YFT.

First dollie.

First stripie.

All aboard offtap.

and first hairtail in the hawkey.

All mine have been achieved,

First Jew 70cm

2 PB Flathead 75cm Bait, 80cm Lure

1 PB Whiting 45cm

Catching Kings in the river new PB 65cm

Getting into the squid consistently.

I got a few fish this year..... popped a few cherries...

- First YFT on the cube, 34kg PB

- PB King 74cm

- First Marlin hooked

- Dollie on a popper

Thanks mate, this year has been the best ever for me. I haven't been offshore once and yea, i caught heaps hopefully the trend continues into 2008 where i will practice more C & R.

I had a couple of small firsts this year.

First Bream 33cm PB

First Flattie (just legal)

First legal Rock Cod (1kg)

Heres hoping 2008 will be better for me fishing and health wise.

42cm Watson's Leaping Bonito

25cm Bream

50cm Sand Flathead

xxcm Snapper

Squid

and hooked onto a Mako according to Ross Hunter

These has been very expensive fish though! I think coupla hundred dollars per fish hahaha Oh wells i see it as start up costs

Caught a few fish that stood out from the rest this year in lake macquarie.

PB Flathead 86cm 4.17kg

PB Squire 50cm 1.8kg

PB Kingy 80cm 4.5kg

All fish were caught lures.

Still got a few fishing days left to nail a 2kg+ bream.

first grey mackerel

first giant herring

- And just today my 7 year old son caught his first fish on plastic....47cm lizard....I had a tear in my eye....

GOT A 700GRAM BREAM ON HER FIRST DAY OUT ON THE BOAT WITH ME BACK IN FEB THIS YEAR,AND I

WAS SO PROUD OF HER.

I think that I should be able to do a spot of fishing on the 21st of Dec.

Will have to see what else comes my way. Might need to also go on the 31st of Dec. Not working the next day so I can stay up late fishing.

Didnt manage to fish as much as I wanted due to being the UK but sneaked the following related accomplishments in

- flyfished Iceland

- Moved to Australia

- Got into SP's

- Bought a tinny

Im sure 2008 is going to magnificent for expanding my repotoire in fishing
