adamrt
G'day everyone, I'm a punter that loves his fishing, and have been enjoying this great website for a couple of years now (after moving from Brisbane). Thanks to everyone that's made this site as wonderful as it is, and especially the good fishos that happily share their experience and learnings. I regularly pick up tips and hope to really get stuck into the sydney kings this summer (just need to find those damn squid...). I also hope this is first of many posts, after having nothing interesting to speak of for sometime. My brother and I thought we had our first king for the season on Sunday morning when something took a big live yakka off Clifton Gardens. Of course, it took the livie on the heaviest combo (10-15k rod, TLD20, 50lb braid), fought like a sack and was called for a wobbie when we got colour. We couldn't believe it was a lizard, until we got to the surface and it went nuts. We got her in the net on the second attempt, and nearly broke the handle getting it aboard. It went 80cm weighed 5 kilo on the dot and had a very full gut. We reckon it was nearly as thick as our thighs. After a couple of quick photos we were pleased to see her swim away strongly. Here's a photo of the little bro with her. Edited January 7, 2008 by mrsswordfisherman

aussie big bob
First of all well done on the catch Even a bigger well done on releasing her , it is good to see that there are still fisho's out there that are happy with just a few snaps I know its some time hard to release a trophy fish. But its fisho's like yourself and others that will help insure that there are fish for the next generation remember every little bit helps cheers bob Edited January 8, 2008 by aussie big bob
