    wiring

The devise you are wiring up will have an amps rating and the wire you use should be of that rating or larger. The fuse you install should match the rating of the devise then all will be ok. You will only melt wire if the wire is smaller and the fuse is larger than the amps rating of the device you are powering up.
  2. Here is one that just took the car.
  3. The total weight of the trailer and boat should be on the ID plate on the trailer.
  4. Hi Caines The height between the winch and the roller seems to be wrong. I can see what they are trying to achieve with the roller and the two hook positions with the roller locking in between them. really locks the nose of the boat in tight. You could get another piece of steel tube and put it under the winch to allow the rope to clear the roller. Regarding the towball weight be carefully as this will affect the way the trailer tows less weight will cause the trailer to sway at speed. More weight will upset the ride height of your car. On my setup I am towing 2000kg, I have 170kg at towball and it tows beautifully. A small movment of the boat can make a big difference so all you can do is move it a bit and take it for a drive.

  8. Agree with all your comments Pelican, they need to deal directly with the target and use things like the rego mailing and other places boaties frequent , such as taking up banners on sites like this and other boater sites.

  12. A Removalist company would be best bet, If you used a normal transport company you would have to strap it to a pallet to make it safe. A removalist will wrap it in Blankets and strap it in the van.
  13. Well done Blur, look forward to seeing the pics.
  14. Americian company developing Deisel Outboard. Only be good for replacing the big Outboards on large boats around the 6 metre size due to engine weight. Be interesting to see how this progresses over the next couple of years considering the outboard technlogy thats around at the moment. next will be an LPG conversion for 4 stroke outboards. http://www.megoutboard.com/index.html
  15. I think you only have fuel problem to much of it, that is why the spark is intermitent due to wet plugs. The spark is there but drowned in fuel.
  16. What makes you think you have an electrical problem? As you said in your post that the spark is Ok.
  17. Could be a problem with the carburetor, from your description it sound like the engine was flooded. When an engine floods you should put the throttle in the full open position then start it. How long is it since the last service? There is a lot of small parts in the Carburetor that can fail due to age and deterioration from petrol. good luck
  18. Generally fill the cells so the water is about 1cm over the plates and you should have the caps off when charging. If you dont have a full charge by now, I would think the battery has been damaged.
  19. Dicko Some of the Resorts have fishing gear you can use on or near the resort property.

    Hail Storm

How did everybody get on in the Storm yesterday? I have never seen hail stones that big before (tennis ball size) I had 12 broken tiles and 2 smashed skylights. After the storm the dog thought Christmas had come so many balls to play with.

    New Trailer

Depending on your car towbar setup you can have upto 200kg, the more weight you have at the towball the better it will tow. To move the axle, connect to car use a couple of stand on the frame of the trailer behind the current axle position, remove the wheels and mark the current position of the axle setup on both sides so you can maintain accurite alignment.
  23. Bearing Buddies are the way to go, the oil bath thing is not a good bullet proof system as on long trips oil heats up and can cook bearings. The grease system is the way to go.
  24. Don't know how much, but if you go to one of those larger auto wreckers where you remove the part yourself. It's suprising how cheap they let things go for.
